We will virtual chat (vc) in Discord. We have different rooms established for the different style flying and chatter you may encounter with those. They are not strictly enforced. If you have a lot of background noise. Avoid breathing and yelling at other people in your own home when on the mic, if you must enable Push-to-Talk.
Flight Logs are not required to participate in the KMFS Flying Group. They are an optional feature designed for members who wish to engage with our internal ranking system and add a layer of progression to their Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) experience. While external tools like Volanta are excellent for tracking distances and real-time locations, our logs are a custom-built, community-focused alternative.
Register: Locate the Yellow Button on the Home Page. During registration, you will select a 5-digit Pilot ID. Please choose an ID that is easy to remember, as it must be entered at the start and conclusion of every log.
Begin Logging: Once registered, you may start recording your flights immediately by selecting the Red Button on the Home Page.
The Flight Log page features an integrated clock and a Gray "Lock" Button to assist with accurate timekeeping:
Capture Time: Clicking the Gray Button will generate the current military time and display [hh:mm LOCKED].
Log Entry: Once the time is captured, it is automatically copied to your clipboard. Simply select the appropriate field in the form and press CTRL+V (or right-click and paste) to enter the data.
Updates: You can click the Gray Button again at any point during your flight to update the captured time for subsequent entries.
Please reach out to a Admin to retreive your Pilot ID. If you need to change it for any reason, please also contact an Admin and they can update it in the system for you. Additionally, you can submit a request Admin to Update or Change your Pilot ID HERE
